‘Tales from the Undergrowth’ is a night of three book launches by authors from the independent publisher and art collective Undergrowth. The night will feature readings and performances from ‘Portals’ by Tim Parish, ‘ALUC(i)NA’ by Benjamin Wild and ‘Mercury’ by performance poet Si, as well as spoken word by conscious hip hop artist Hugo, and spoken word by Aime Lou, Tarir.

The night will feature readings and performances to launch three books by Undergrowth authors, 'Portals' by Tim Parish, 'The Rooftop Sutras' by Levin Diatschenko and 'Mercury' by performance poet Si.

ENLIGHTENMENT WEEK is a gigantic sprawling enlightening tour of the north side of Melbourne, taking in four gigs, and an art exhibition, all to launch new Hugo album 'THE ENLIGHTENMENT ERA'

Enlightenment Week is a series of events designed to launch the disc 'The Enlightenment Era' and engage with the whole spectrum of art and party lovers in the city of Melbourne. It is about enjoying poetry, visual art and music together in as many different contexts as possible.

KAFKA MERCURY > BOOK & ALBUM LAUNCH @ Thornbury Theatre > Fri 29th May

 

 

The 29th of May at The Thornbury Theatre will see the psych-funk soul Jazz punks KAFKA.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson voted "Kafka Anthem" one of the best tracks of 2009.

They be launching their international recognised album in Melbourne with a seven piece ensemble.

Also Victorian Poetry Slam Champ SI will be launching his illustrated book of poems 'Mercury' with rock musicians, actors & rappers performing and interpreting his poems, there will also be the first screening of short-film by Darius Devas, based on Si's poem 'This City Speaks to Me'.
